Q: Is there a fee to start a team?
A: No, it is free to start a team. However, each individual on the team has to pay the $30 registration fee to join. Is your corporation a sponsor and you have a discount code? Enter it when you register.
Q: Is there a fundraising requirement for the team?
A: No. There is no extra team fundraising requirement.
Q: What is a team fundraising goal?
A: Although there is no team fundraising requirement, You can still set a team fundraising goal. You do NOT have to meet your fundraising goal, although it is an excellent wa to support biking programs in our community.
Q: How do I go about starting a team?
A: Go to www.rideunitedbirmingham.org and click on "Rider Registration" on the left hand side of the page. After agreeing to the RideUNITED Birmingham Liability Waiver, click on "Start a Team." From there you will fill out all your information.
Q: What is a Team Captain?
A: A Team Captain is a person who creates a team and encourages the team members to meet the fundraising requirements.
Q: What is a Team Captain's responsibility?
A: You have two important jobs: 1) Recruit people to join your team. 2) Encourage your cyclists to raise funds. You can also schedule times to train with your team to get your teammates motivated.
Q: How many people can be on a team?
A: The average team has anywhere from 3-20 fundraising cyclists, but there is no limit. Go ahead and ask 200 of your closest friends to join your team!
Q: How do I recruit people to join my team?
A: The three most popular ways are asking people in person, and through facebook. Cyclists can link to their Facebook page and Twitter account from their Participant HQ atwww.rideunitedBirmingham.org. Go ahead and ask family members, friends, co-workers and neighbors. The sky's the limit!
